We are looking for an Environment Health and Safety Specialistto join our EHS team.

In this role, you are executing activities on process safety to meet safety regulations and Kite’s standards and procedures. You’ll work with EHS colleagues and other departments to maintain in compliance and fit for the future. You will work with the production departments, engineering & maintenance, laboratory, and the internal EHS-team of specialists.

General responsibilities of this job:

  • Support and implementation and/or improvements to EH&S policies and programs
  • Create and update training materials and intranet information.
  • Conduct and lead EH&S audits and inspections
  • Conduct and lead occupational health and/or safety risk assessments and Job Hazard Analysis
  • Provide EH&S support for manufacturing and administrative operations
  • Manage EH&S systems, including but not limited to incident investigation, chemical data sheets, inspection, change control
  • Manage injury and Illness investigations, root cause analysis, data trending and safety and compliance inspections
  • Provide general and program specific EH&S training
  • Serve on periodic 24 hour on-call rotation
  • Provide general support related to laboratory safety, emergency response, hazard communication, LOTO and other regulatory and site-specific EH&S programs
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer groups
  • Lead EH&S data management programs
  • Support regular and emergency communication
  • Support Crisis Management Team including period table-top exercises
  • Manage Purchase Orders, Change Orders and supplier agreements on behalf of the EH&S team
  • Act as liaison to Security Team contractor and work cooperatively to implement and maintain security practices and policies
  • Participate in preparation and delivery of EH&S Council, Town Hall, Tier and/or site meeting presentations
  • Participate in regulatory agency inspections as needed
  • Serve as a back-up for EH&S Manager in times of absence
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • These duties can be delegated to designated deputies of a satisfactory qualification level as needed.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master degree of Science degree in safety, science or (Bio-chemical) engineering
  • EHS experience (manufacturing/pharmaceutical industry preferred).
  • 1–3 years experience (or more) in implementing a sustainable safety culture in a manufacturing / pharmaceutical company.
  • Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline. Acquiring knowledge of the organization, processes, industry, and customers.
