As Manager Crew Scheduling Western Region you are responsible for the implementation of the scheduling policy and processes as described in the Company Guidelines and for the translation of this policy and processes into rosters for flight and cabin crew members. You will aim for best in class operational performance while doing so.

You are responsible for ensuring that rosters are published in a correct and timely manner taking into account all training requirements.

You will manage a team of approx. 20 schedulers and ensure that their delivery meets the defined quality and quantity. You will report into the Head of Scheduling TUI fly Benelux and report on a frequent basis about performance and trends to initiate corrective actions.

How you will make an impact    

As Manager Crew Scheduling you will ensure an optimized planning of all flight and cabin crew members of Western Region until 72h before departure of the flights, including operational and commercial training duties. You will aim for operational excellence by balancing commercial and operational requirements within the forecasted budget, training and manpower plan. While ensuring that the legal regulations (OM A Ch. 7, social labor law, training and license expiries, medical checks, visa and vaccination expiries,…) and the Company Guidelines are respected, you will aim for the highest possible productivity and equal distribution of duties.

As crew training within TUI fly Benelux is a business critical activity, you will ensure that all trainings (recurrent and conversion trainings, type ratings, simulator sessions, commercial and ground trainings,…) and checks are scheduled according to the OM D requirements, on time and in the most efficient and proactive way for pilots, cabin crew and all instructors. You will ensure that all training facilities are booked and that the Crew Training department is informed about all training related activities. You are responsible for maintaining good relations with the external training suppliers are maintained and for ensuring that agreements are respected.

Moreover, you are responsible for the planning of holiday for all flight and cabin crew members following legal regulations and company agreements. Additionally to planning the rosters of flight and cabin crew members, you are also responsible for scheduling ground duties for all flight and cabin crew members with additional ground functions (e.g. CSA, reception, Unit Coaches,…).

In your job as Manager Crew Scheduling you will represent the Scheduling department in social fora (workers council, LM meetings, FSAG,…).

Additionally to finding solutions for issues addressed in these social fora, you will also analyze recurring trends and difficulties (e.g. initiated via the monthly operational dashboard) on a proactive basis and make recommendations to improve the scheduling policy and processes.

When your optimization recommendations are approved and when changes and decisions are taken, you will manage the projects to translate these initiatives into processes and ways of working.

You will give input to the Commercial Flight Planning, Manpower Planning and Training departments to ensure that their future plans are feasible for the Scheduling department. You will proactively anticipate on the changes and decisions from these departments that might impact crew scheduling.

You will prepare management information about crew scheduling for the Head of Scheduling TUI fly Western Region, the Monthly Operational Review Meetings, the TUI fly Benelux Board and other relevant stakeholders to enable fact-based, quick and efficient decision making.

You will collaborate closely with the OCC department to ensure efficient and qualitative hand-overs from the scheduling timeframe to and from the 72h OCC timeframe.

You will collaborate with various other departments e.g. HR, OCC, Training,… to ensure proactive, timely and qualitative information sharing. Moreover you will coordinate and give input to the Unit Coaches and Head of Pilots in case of attitude issues, exceptional cases,…
