Please join our team as our New Product Developer – Product & Innovation (0,5 FTE).In this role, you will be part of our Global Long Life Cream & Cooking category, based at our site in Nijkerk, the Netherlands. As a product developer you will be part of our Product & Innovation organization, the team spread across 7 different countries including the Arla Innovation Center in Denmark. You will be part of that group of product, science and technology experts and will benefit from a network of international colleagues who deliver innovative products and solutions to all categories and countries where Arla operates. Join us and be part of our team as we seek to create the future of food.Develop new products for our core categoryWe are looking for a skilled Product Developer with the chief objective to develop new products and renovate existing offerings. The main product categories will be ‘vla’ and ‘pap’, but also fermented products are in scope.In your role you will

• Co-create target briefs with commercial colleagues specifying key elements of the product that needs to be replicated at pilot and industrial scale;
• Lead product development activities for the cooking category in Nijkerk on a pilot scale and industrial scale including implementation at production scale;
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams;
• Perform maintenance of recipes in compliance with food regulations;
• Collaborate closely with suppliers;
• Renovate and reformulate existing products in collaboration with procurement and supply chain;
• Follow a stage gate process;
• Use our digital ingredient specification systems.

You will be part of an existing global set-up, however the role is new to the team. You will build a broad network across Arla Foods and work collaboratively with relevant functions such as Innovation Managers, Science, Procurement, Product Management and Brands in innovation projects in the cooking category.Key Skills RequiredYou are ambitious, curious and have great knowledge in Product Development due to years of experience within food production. You have a flair for communication and are able to support our commercial teams creating solid target briefs.

• You have an education in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering or as master craftsman or technician in the dairy industry
• Several years’ experience in the dairy or food industry
• Fluent in English and Dutch (must have qualification!)
• Project management skills
• Ingredient management system experience
• Willingness to travel
• Available for 20 hrs a week (max)
