Does the prospect of developing the long-term strategy for a global leader appeal to you? As the Strategy & Business Development Manager for Europe, you would be leading regional strategy development, strategic projects, collaborating as “one-team” with all areas globally, especially with Europe Operations, Finance, Commercial and CoE functions. You will play a key role in driving the strategic direction for Alcoa’s European operations and the development of growth and innovation opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
  • Lead the development and update of Alcoa’s European Regional Strategy.
  • Lead strategy & business development projects or workstreams at screening, evaluation, validation or delivery phases collaborating with specialists and cross-functional teams.
  • Identify growth, partnership or investment opportunities, and participate or lead in the opportunity evaluation and early-stage development.
  • Provide strategic analysis & advice to the strategy and/or regional leadership.
  • Support ad hoc projects such as business case development for complex projects, M&A due diligence, market opportunity evaluation.
  • Manage or coach cross-functional teams to deliver on strategy and business development projects.
  • Contribute to the development of Alcoa’s global corporate strategy.
About you:

  • 7+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, marketing, or finance.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in business, business administration, computer science, or engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Robust examples of problem-solving skills, strategic thinking skills and a growth mindset, which will equip you to work independently and navigate ambiguity.
  • Proven track record of building strong cross-functional relationships and partnerships to deliver project outcomes, ideally including with external partners and government representatives.
  • Strong leadership presence, communication, presentation and leading through influence skills.
  • Ability to lead strategic research and analysis with demonstrable attention to detail, including data gathering from various sources, financial analysis, market analysis, partner or M&A due diligence, opportunity evaluation, recommendation development, etc.
  • Experience in aluminum industry will be beneficial but not required.
  • Fluent in English.
